St. Mary Development and Miller-Valentine Group Announce Grand Opening of 55+ Community

KOKOMO, IN - St. Mary Development Corporation and Miller-Valentine Group are proud to announce, in conjunction with their partner organizations, the Grand Opening of The Residences at Washington Street, a brand new community built for the lifestyle, needs and wants of adults 55 and over. The ceremony will be begin at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 400 North Washington Street, Kokomo, IN 46901; property tours and a reception will immediately follow the ceremony.

There will be several distinguished speakers at this event, including: Paul Lagemann, Regional Director, US Senator Dan Coats’ Office; Joe McLain, District Director, US Representative Todd Rokita’s Office; Milton Beach, City Controller, City of Kokomo; Tim Bete, President, St. Mary Development Corporation; Akeley David-Irwin, Assistant Director of Asset Management, National Development Council; and Matt Rayburn, Chief Real Estate Development Officer, Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority.

Miller-Valentine Group worked with St. Mary Development Corporation, Area 5 Agency on Aging, Community Housing Capital, National Development Council, and Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority to bring this incredible project to completion. The Residences at Washington Street is a maintenance-free, pet-friendly, elevator accessible community of 54 apartment homes built exclusively for adults 55 and over. The Residences at Washington Street features amenities you would expect to find in a luxury community at an affordable price: spacious one- and two-bedroom floor plans, walk-in closets, energy-efficient design and appliances, full-size washer & dryer in every home, professional onsite management and 24-hour emergency maintenance services. Also featured are a community lounge area, fitness center, theater room, and business center which are conveniently located on the first floor of the building.
The Residences at Washington Street has provided $4.3 million in income for the local economy. This includes wages for workers and revenue for local proprietors, small businesses, and corporations. In addition, The Residences at Washington Street generated 81 new jobs during its construction for local contractors and sub-contractors.
