CityView Partners with Windflower Properties for Transit-Oriented Apartment Community Development

UNION CITY, CA - CityView, a premier investment management and development firm focused on urban multifamily real estate in the Western United States, announced that it has acquired the land for its new multifamily housing project in Union City, Calif. CityView is providing equity capital to partner with San Francisco-based Windflower Properties in the project’s development. The project is fully entitled.

“Union City is an ideal market for us given its proximity to jobs, transportation and shopping,” said Sean Burton, chief executive officer of CityView. “In the last 15 years, just one other residential housing project has been built in the area, so we expect to see strong demand for these units once construction is completed.”

Situated at 34588 11th Street, the finished development will feature 243 residential units, 2,400 square feet of retail space, a pool, yoga room, fitness studio and outdoor barbeque area. The site is walking distance to a major shopping center and is adjacent to the Union City BART station, giving residents easy transportation to jobs in both San Francisco and Silicon Valley.

“CityView’s ability to navigate complex development issues makes the firm an ideal partner for this project,” said V. Fei Tsen, president of Windflower Properties. “CityView has a great depth of experience working with city leaders to develop multifamily housing with good proximity to transportation, jobs and services. We appreciate the firm’s support on this project and look forward to making units available to the community.”

“We are pleased to have partnered with Windflower on the development of this project and look forward to working on this together,” said Tony Cardoza, managing director of CityView. “Windflower has done an excellent job identifying the site and working in concert with Union City officials to address their needs throughout the entitlement process.”

Groundbreaking on the Union City project is slated for the first quarter of this year, with completion expected by the second quarter of 2017. The project has been designed by David Baker Architects, which specializes in urban environments.
