Virginia Wang Joins Apartment List as V-P of Product

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - ApartmentList.com, the fastest-growing apartment search engine that is revolutionizing the way consumers find apartments, announced that Virginia Wang has joined the company as Vice President of Product. Wang was previously Head of Product for Marketing and Business Development at Gilt Groupe, the leading members-only luxury shopping site, where she was responsible for initiatives to increase user acquisition and promote consumer engagement.

Prior to Gilt Groupe, Wang managed products at YouTube, PayPal and Microsoft, where she launched YouTube Video Annotations and the first YouTube in-video advertisements, PayPal's first SMB merchant risk management platform, and PayPal's then largest-ever UI overhaul.

San Francisco-based Vertical Brands, which is the parent company of Apartment List, has hired Wang to lead product strategy and development for its flagship product, ApartmentList.com, as well as meta-search products in other categories.

“Virginia brings depth of experience from some of the most loved consumer products on the web,” said John Kobs, CEO and co-founder of Apartment List. “She worked for tech giants like PayPal and YouTube at critical hyper-growth stages of their existence. Because Apartment List is young and growing at lightning speed, we believe Virginia has the necessary blend of vision, leadership and tech industry know-how to help bring our team and our products to the next level.”

Apartment List is the world’s largest and fastest-growing apartment search engine. It brings millions of listings from around the web into one elegant interface, drastically reducing the time it takes renters to find an apartment. Apartment List launched in September 2011 at TechCrunch Disrupt and won a 2012 Webby Award for Real Estate. The San Francisco-based company is profitable and hiring. Apartment List is owned by Vertical Brands and is built by a team that hails from Google, Yelp, Yahoo, Amazon, Facebook and Gilt Groupe.
