Metropica Tops Off Construction of First Residential Tower at 28 Stories Tall in Sunrise, Florida

SUNRISE, FL – Metropica, one of the nation’s largest under-construction mixed-use communities, announced today that its first residential tower, Metropica One, has officially topped off construction at 28 stories tall.

The Mayor of Sunrise, Mike Ryan, a number of city officials, and other invited guests gathered recently at the project’s sales center to celebrate the completion of the structure of Metropica One, the development’s first of eight residential towers. Under the glow of a green lit Metropica One just steps away, guests enjoyed signature drinks, food stations, live music, and other entertainment.

“The topping off of Metropica One is an important milestone for us,” says Joseph Kavana, CEO of Metropica Development LLC, developers of Metropica. “As the first building top off for the entire development, this is an exciting beginning to what will soon be an extraordinary and vibrant urban environment for Western Broward. We are delighted and humbled to celebrate this moment with the community and many of the people who have been instrumental in our success.”

Metropica One features 263 tropically inspired residences, ranging in size from 740 to 1,379 square feet, that are designed by an award-winning team of architects and designers that include YOO Design Studio, Oppenheim Architecture, CI Design, and EDSA.  Each residence will boast custom finish palettes and open floor plans created by YOO Design Studio, as well as spacious private balconies with beautiful views, and floor to ceiling windows.  European style cabinetry, imported porcelain tile floors, and Hansgrohe fixtures are among some of the premium features found in every home.

Residents will also have access to a resort-inspired collection of amenities and services exclusive to the building such as a salt water pool with pool-side cabanas and shaded lounge areas, a fully equipped 24-hour fitness center with men’s and women’s locker room, massage therapy rooms, steam room and sauna, full-size tennis courts, and facilities for yoga classes and cross-training.  Other coveted amenities include a clubroom, a wide-screen private screening room, coffee lounge, indoor game room, kids room, and other entertainment spaces.

With prices starting from the low $400s for one bedrooms and going up to $1.3 million for penthouses, the building is scheduled for completion in December of this year.

Metropica One residences are part of the larger Metropica community, a sustainably-designed 65-acre, $1.5 billion urban high street development located at 1800 NW 136th Avenue in Sunrise, FL.  The project will encompass approximately 4 million square feet, consisting of: 2,250 residential condominiums, as well as apartments, prime shopping and dining experiences, 650,000 square feet of contemporary, class A office space, boutique hotels, lush green spaces including a Central Park, and other public spaces dedicated to the arts.

The topping off of Metropica One comes on the heels of Urban Outfitters signing on as the newest tenant for the development’s retail/entertainment lifestyle center. The URBN brand will join sister store Anthropologie to complement an enviable mix of distinctive retail, dining, and entertainment concepts including Fogo de Chao, City Works Eatery & Pour House, Genuine Pizza (formerly Harry’s Pizzeria), Sugarboo & Co., Cru Wine Bar, Kendra Scott Jewelry and iPic Theaters. Phase one of the development’s retail component, scheduled to break ground in the second quarter of this year, will consist of 280,000 square feet of retail and entertainment space, as well as 349 luxury apartments.

The residential component of the development is exclusively being sold by ONE Sotheby’s International Realty, and is already 65 percent sold. For further information visit www.livemetropica.com or contact the sales office at 954.320.7132.
