New Uber-Luxury Apartment Community NEXT on Sixth Opens in Los Angeles' Thriving Koreatown

LOS ANGELES, CA - Century West Partners, a JV of Fifield Companies and Cypress Equity Investments, the Los Angeles-based developer of sophisticated luxury apartment communities, has completed NEXT on Sixth, an uber-luxury community aiming to raise the bar in LA rental living. Boasting exceptional in-unit features and finishes, unparalleled community amenities, and an upscale artwork collection, the community is continuing the renaissance in Los Angeles’ thriving Koreatown.

“The completion of NEXT on Sixth marks a major milestone for Century West Partners and the neighborhood of Koreatown,” said Steve Fifield, co-founder and principal of Century West Partners. “NEXT on Sixth is a true community collaboration, delivering luxury rental living to a thriving and sought-after neighborhood of Los Angeles while providing a coveted lifestyle package to many.”

The seven-story NEXT on Sixth community presents 398 stylishly-designed rental units offered in a collection of contemporary studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom floorplans. High-style, tech-friendly living is offered in units decked with: luxe adornments and materials; stainless steel appliance packages; white Quartz countertops; gracious eight-foot entry doors; lofty nine-foot ceilings; wood plank style flooring; full-size, front-load washers and dryers; walk-in closets with built-ins; electronic keyless entry; USB charging ports; built-in audio systems with in-ceiling speakers; and floor-to-ceiling windows with spectacular views of the downtown Los Angeles skyline; among many others.  Apartments are situated on the community’s upper stories above a ground level featuring one of Los Angeles’ few urban-concept Target retail stores. With lobbies on both Commonwealth and Virgil, NEXT on Sixth is the epitome of convenience and luxury.

“Securing an urban Target at NEXT on Sixth is a major coup for our residents and the surrounding community,” said Michael Sorochinsky, co-founder and principal of Century West Partners. “The convenience it brings is a major component of the complete lifestyle package NEXT on Sixth offers, including sophisticated in-unit amenities and robust community offerings, at an incredible location.”

With contemporary, thought-provoking art integral to its brand, NEXT on Sixth features renowned artists in large-scale custom commissions that include two striking 50’ high contemporary billboard-size paintings adorning the community’s exterior, visible to the surrounding community via the street. One of the major murals is a creation of Sam Rodriguez, a Bay Area artist inspired by graffiti culture and trained in fine arts. Known for noteworthy brand collaborations with Puma, LinkedIn, Google, and others, Rodriguez’s custom ‘Xochitl’ mural depicts a beautiful cross-cultural woman with symbols, including the Korean symbol for flower, artfully overlayed on her face, symbolically representing the neighborhood’s vibrant bloom. The second mural, created by Erik Jones, celebrates the diverse culture of Koreatown, featuring Korean symbols for Community, Unity, Koreatown, Friendship, and Love.

The 7’ tall ‘Radiance’ sculpture, a visually-complex geometric installation inspired by Korean fan art showcasing colors that evoke the sunsets of Los Angeles, is a focal point of the community’s interior courtyard. The polished stainless steel and powder coated metal commission was created by artist Curtis Pittman, a Pacific Northwest artist whose work joins the fields of architecture and sculpture. The interior of NEXT on Sixth also acts as a dynamic gallery, with numerous pivotal works showcased throughout, including pieces from Ryland Arnoldi (among others) and hand-blown glass chandeliers by Higgins Glass.

“NEXT on Sixth showcases incredible artists of our day with upscale interior installations that are sure to turn heads,” said Randy Fifield, principal of Century West Partners.

NEXT on Sixth enhances apartment living with modern amenities and luxuries that go well beyond what is typically offered in rentals. NEXT on Sixth offers: indoor simulated golf range; complimentary Wi-Fi in common areas; gourmet coffee bar; pet-friendly dog grooming station and bark park; controlled access and a gated underground parking garage; electric car charging stations; robust bicycle storage and bike kitchen with repair rack, supplies, tools and air pump; onsite storage space; and state-of-the-art business centers.

NEXT on Sixth also features a robust, high-end two-story fitness center with: Technogym cardio equipment with iPod & touch screen entertainment; PreCor treadmills, cross-trainers, and cycles; Plurima strength training equipment; Element multi-adjustable bench and free-weights; fitness-on-demand classes; water and towel service; yoga room; and competition-sized pool and hot tubs.

For relaxation and entertainment, residents are provided with: sky lounges and landscaped rooftop decks featuring 70” TV and surround sound with built-in fire pits; al fresco kitchen with grill center and sun deck; landscaped courtyard; screening room; game room; and resident lounge.

Residents enjoy immediate access to world-class dining, eclectic shopping, energetic nightlife options, and convenient access to public transit via the Wilshire/Vermont Metro station just a block away. With Beverly Hills, Downtown Los Angeles, and Hollywood only minutes away, NEXT on Sixth provides an unparalleled level of convenience for residents desiring access to major employment centers, renowned universities and educational institutions, world-class healthcare, and an array of culinary, cultural, and lifestyle attractions.

NEXT on Sixth joins Century West Partners’ other recently-completed 476-unit, three-building K2LA community in helping to reshape Koreatown. Century West Partners worked extensively with community stakeholders in the development of each of the two communities, which are notable for offering luxury living and enviable amenity packages in a neighborhood where demand for both is flourishing.

“Our team is so proud to be a part of the incredible resurgence happening in Koreatown,” added Kevin Farrell, chief operating officer of Century West Partners. “The energy here is palpable, contagious, and unlikely to slow down anytime soon.”
