WASHINGTON, DC - Atlanta-headquartered ARA, the largest privately held, full-service investment advisory brokerage firm in the nation focusing exclusively on the multihousing industry, announces the opening of its Washington, DC office under the leadership of Drew White and Michael Marshall, both former Mid-Atlantic-based Cushman & Wakefield executive directors. Drew and Mike successfully enticed former Bozzuto executive Ryan Ogden to join the team to leverage off of his relationship and multifamily knowledge.
The new office marks ARA’s 24th location and expands its Mid-Atlantic presence and solidifies ARA’s national market coverage that spans 40 states from California to Massachusetts providing ARA’s clients with coast-to-coast multihousing investment sales and financing market expertise.
According to White, “The ARA platform will substantially enhance our service delivery to our clients by allowing us to immediately leverage off of the relationships, knowledge and infrastructure of this powerful team of brokers.” He added, “When we were ready to take our platform to a national level - there was no contest. The ARA team has proven time and time again that they have the focus, expertise and business model in place, as borne out by their production numbers, to continue to dominate the multihousing industry.”
With more than 18 years of multihousing investment sales experience, White has sold in excess of 250 properties throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions of the US for clients ranging from large institutions to individual owners. White was responsible for opening Cushman’s Washington DC office in 2002 and quickly established himself as the East Coast’s top apartment broker.
Marshall brings more than 24 years of multihousing and commercial real estate investment sales experience to ARA. Marshall successfully completed the sale of over 17,000 apartment units totaling in excess of $2 billion. “The strength of ARA’s platform is built on the cooperation among the partners and professionals through the company to provide the best client service,” says Mike. “The opportunity to bring that capability to the Mid Atlantic market was very compelling.”
Ryan Ogden brings a strong, existing face to the Philadelphia and Maryland markets. As a former managing partner at The Bozzuto Group, Ryan has extensive acquisition, disposition, financing, and asset management experience in the mid-Atlantic region. During his tenure at Bozzuto, Ryan was directly responsible for nearly $1 billion in value-add acquisitions and dispositions.
Long-term ARA principal Jeff Pritchard relocated to the area to provide oversight and support for the new office. Jeff has over 25 years of diverse brokerage experience as a partner with Brian O’Boyle in the ARA Dallas operation. More recently, Jeff’s focus has turned to building new teams and establishing new, complimentary platforms starting with the ARA Austin/San Antonio office. He then successfully launched three national platforms: ARA’s National Student Housing Group, National Seniors Housing Group, and National Manufactured Housing Group.
Collectively, the Mid-Atlantic team possesses over 80 years of real estate investment experience with a specialization in the institutional and private capital multihousing market and they will focus on executing transactions throughout the District of Columbia, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, southern New Jersey and the Philadelphia metropolitan region.
According to Gary Kachadurian, Chairman of ARA, “Given the unique and exceptional nature of the Mid-Atlantic market , the Washington, DC office was established in the wake of client interest coupled with ARA’s strategic growth plan. Our clients are always the driving force behind our expansion efforts.” He added, “This is a vital and significant market for ARA to be in.”
