TAMPA, FL - The law firm of Gardner Brewer Martinez-Monfort is pleased to announce the addition of noted real estate and land-use attorney Michael P. Maguire to the firm’s growing practice. Maguire joins the firm as a partner.
The Tampa-based firm has become the hub for many of Southwest Florida’s most recognizable development projects. Among them: “One Bayshore,” “Skyhouse,” Oxford Exchange, “Nine15” on Franklin Street, “Virage Bayshore,” plus Costco in Westchase, and zoning and land use matters for Wawa locations across Florida.
“We are proud to add Mike to our family,” said Truett Gardner, who founded the firm in Tampa with Steve Gardner, Christopher Brewer and Luis Martinez-Monfort. “Mike is a fast-rising star in real estate and development, and will bring a great deal of skill and talent to better serve our client’s needs.”
Maguire specializes in real estate, commercial finance and land-use matters, and has recently focused on construction financing for hotels, investments by private equity funds and development of full-service and fast-casual restaurant locations across the state. Previously, Maguire practiced law at Holland & Knight and Trenam Law.
“Now, I am working with many of the same clients that large law firms chase, but I can provide those clients with much more direct and personal attention,” Maguire said. “Plus, we are all cut from a similar cloth here at GBMM, and I’m thrilled to be part of the team.”
Maguire was born in Clearwater, attended high school in Tampa and graduated from the University of Florida and the University of Florida Levin College of Law. He is a member of the Certified Commercial Investment Members (CCIM), the Society of Real Estate Professionals, and the University of Florida Law Alumni Council. Privately, he serves on the Alumni Executive Board of Berkeley Preparatory School and the Young Professionals Advisory Board to the PGA Tour’s Valspar Championship.
