Robert Greer Inducted to Hall of Fame

Robert Greer, president of Michaels Development Co., was inducted into the Affordable Housing Hall of Fame at a ceremony Nov. 5 in Chicago sponsored by Affordable Housing Finance Magazine, joining an impressive group of "inspirational industry leaders" who have made major contributions to affordable housing in the United States.

Professionals from all aspects of the industry who serve on the magazine's editorial advisory board select the honorees from a slate of nominations received from their peers. In addition to Greer, the 2010 Hall of Fame inductees included David Reznick, chairman of The Reznick Group, James and Patty Rouse, founders of The Enterprise Foundation, and Julia Stasch, vice president of Human and Community Development at the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.

In announcing his selection to the Affordable Housing Hall of Fame, the magazine hailed Greer's strong relationships with residents, development partners, and investors over the past three decades, which have made The Michaels Development Company one of "the largest and most influential developers of affordable housing in the country, a leader in public housing redevelopment, and a powerful new force in bringing new investors into affordable housing."

Upon receiving the honor, Greer, who has been with The Michaels Organization for more than 35 years, paid tribute to his development team, saying he shared the honor with all of them. He also paid tribute to Michael J. Levitt, Chairman and CEO of The Michaels Organization and the founder of Michaels Development Company, saying "You have been my teacher, my mentor, and the inspiration for me to do my best everyday for families who need quality, affordable housing."

A profile of Robert Greer appears in the October 2010 issue of Affordable Housing Finance magazine.

Michaels Development Company is part of The Michaels Organization, a family of companies dedicated to excellence in affordable, mixed-income, and military housing.
