NEW YORK, NY – Argo Real Estate, a top property management company in New York City, will host an educational session titled “Emergency Response for NYC Residential Buildings: Preparing for Terrorist Attacks, Shooters, and Other Threats” as part of its Argo University (ArgoU) series.
The event will be held at 6:00pm on June 15, 2016 at The New School for Social Research, located at 55 W 13th Street in Greenwich Village. Presenters include senior officials from the New York City Emergency Management, Realty Advisory Board on Labor Relations, Local 32BJ Training Fund, New York City Department of Health and New York Police Department.
“In light of recent world events, we saw a need that had to be addressed,” said Argo Real Estate Vice President Marina Higgins. “Our board members and building staff have a high level of responsibility for their residents and should know what to do in case these situations occur.”
Argo Real Estate has enlisted the help of top emergency management professionals to address potential threats including terrorist attacks, bio-terrorism, active shooters and others. Presenters include:
Ira Tannebaum, Assistant Commissioner, New York City Emergency Management
Howard Rothschild, President, Realty Advisory Board on Labor Relations
Mike Green, Deputy Director of the Local 32BJ Training Fund
David Starr, Director of Countermeasures Response, NYC Department of Health
Senior Official, NYPD Counterterrorism Bureau
“When Argo Real Estate approached us with this idea we were excited to get involved,” said Ira Tannebaum, Assistant Commissioner of the New York City Emergency Management. “We feel that it is crucial for New York residents to be aware of what measures are already in place to protect against these threats as well as what general citizens, and in particular building board members, can do to prepare.”
ArgoU keeps Argo-managed condo and co-op boards informed on the topics that matter most to them, such as the board approval process, alteration agreements, pet and smoking policies and changes in NYC energy laws. The program is known for bringing the industry’s top experts to boards for in-person, real-time problem solving. The sessions are free of charge and open to all board members in New York City.
Information provided at previous ArgoU’s is available through the recently-launched “Argo University for Boards” video series available online at www.argo.com/educational-resources.
