Brinshore and Michaels Development Select McShane Construction for Mixed-Use Project in Chicago

CHICAGO, IL - Jeffrey A. Raday, P.E., President of McShane Construction Company, is pleased to announce that joint venture partners, Brinshore Development and Michaels Development Company, have selected the firm to complete Clybourn 1200 – an 84-unit mixed-use, mixed-income development located within the Old Town neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. 

The project is conveniently situated on an infill site at 454 West Division Street at the southern end of the popular Clybourn Corridor and within walking distance to numerous stores, restaurants and entertainment options.  Clybourn 1200 is also positioned less than a half mile away from the CTA Clark/Division Red Line Station and is easily accessible to the Kennedy Expressway.

McShane Construction will complete the seven-story residence utilizing precast concrete finished with a blend of textures and colors adding architectural interest to the prominent structure.  Modern aluminum windows with varying mullion designs and steel and glass canopies at the retail and residential entrances will greater emphasize the contemporary aesthetic. 

Clybourn 1200 will consist of a one-story, 25,295 square foot indoor parking garage located on the second floor topped with five residential floors incorporating 84 mixed-income apartments.  The ground-level will boast 17,000 square feet of retail space.  The complex offers a variety of unit configurations including studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom floorplans.  Each apartment will be outfitted with stylish and modern finishes together with in-unit washers and dryers and an in-floor radiant heat system. 

An extensive array of tenant amenities will be incorporated throughout the property including a fully-featured community room, office area, party room and fitness center.  In addition, a well-appointed roof deck on the third floor provides generous outdoor gathering space with comfortable seating, a gas grill, fire place and lush landscaping.  Unique to the residence will be a vegetable garden for residents to utilize and an Apiary, or a bee keeping area. 

Clybourn 1200 was designed to meet LEED Certification and incorporates various sustainable components including a solar panel water heater system, low VOC products, permeable pavers and ENERGY STAR lighting and appliances.
