LandSouth Construction Named One of Northeast Florida’s Best Places to Work for Second Straight Year

JACKSONVILLE, FL LandSouth Construction, a Jacksonville, Fla. based general contractor specializing in multifamily, senior housing and mixed use developments, announced today that the company is ranked on the Jacksonville Business Journal's "2015 Best Places to Work" list.

It was the second consecutive year LandSouth has been recognized. The honor was announced at an event held last month to recognize local companies that maintain extraordinarily high levels of employee satisfaction as measured by an independent research firm.

Out of more than 50 companies whose employees were surveyed, LandSouth Construction was voted one of the best places to work in the category of businesses with 10-49 employees.

“We are very proud to be recognized by the Business Journal and our staff as a Best Place to Work in Northeast Florida,” said James Pyle, President and CEO of LandSouth Construction. “It’s the people who make this firm, and we are fortunate to attract and retain such talented professionals with our growth, and people who thrive in a collaborative environment like ours.”

The award is presented based on feedback from the employees on how the 16-year old company creates opportunities for development and career growth, as well demonstrates that they are valued.

An internal recognition program was created to assist and improve both recognition and communication of the company values. Each year the Diamond Award is voted on by the employees based on whom has best represented the firm’s core values for the calendar year.

Hundreds of companies and thousands of employees participate in the local Business Journal’s Best Places to Work.  Employees of nominated companies were surveyed by a third party to determine their ranking.  The survey evaluates:

  • Retention
  • Employee alignment with company goals
  • Trust with co-workers
  • Individual contribution
  • Manager effectiveness
  • Trust in senior leaders
  • Feeling valued
  • Work engagement
