Vestcor Selected to Develop Second Phase of Florida Polytechnic University's Student Housing

JACKSONVILLE, FL - Vestcor Communities has been awarded the contract to build the second phase of on-campus housing at Florida Polytechnic University. Vestcor completed the first residence hall, which has 241-beds, in August of 2014.

The 132,000-square-foot steel structure will provide housing for 543 students, primarily in spacious two-bedroom/one-bath units. Each unit will have stackable washer and dryers. Amenities will include study lounges, student lounges with multiple TV’s for gaming, game room with hospitality bar, pool tables and ping pong tables, common area kitchens and study rooms.

“I’m extremely proud of the first residence hall we developed and we are excited to expand on the housing community for such a remarkable University”, said Vestcor Communities President, Will Morgan. “The University is quickly growing with an expected incoming class of 600 students for Fall 2015. Statistics show that living on campus has many benefits. Collectively, the residence halls will provide quality housing options with the best living and learning environment for students to succeed.”

Construction is scheduled to begin in April and is expected to be completed in July of 2016.
