Texas Adds Foreclosure Help Online

Austin, TX -- The Homeownership Division of the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) has added a new page to its area on the TDHCA website (http://www.tdhca.state.tx.us/) providing helpful information to those facing or in the midst of a home foreclosure.

In addition to providing helpful links on foreclosure to the HUD, FHA, Freddie Mac and the Homeownership Preservation Foundation websites, the foreclosure prevention page also provides information about the Texas Foreclosure Prevention Task Force. This task force, composed of TDHCA and other key stakeholder organizations, is working to reduce home foreclosures and the impact of foreclosure on Texas families and communities.

The Department has also announced plans to conduct foreclosure prevention training sessions for nonprofit single family developers, housing finance agencies, social service providers, local governments, and housing counseling providers. The trainings consist of four two-day trainings on foreclosure basics. The Department and its partner NeighborWorks (http://www.nw.org/network/home.asp) anticipate holding the trainings during the spring of 2008. Please stay tuned for further details.
