CHICAGO, IL - Chicago-based Habitat, a leading U.S. multifamily developer and property manager, has announced leasing is now underway at The Junction at OC Living in Chicago’s North Lawndale neighborhood. Located at 1312 S. Talman Ave., The Junction at OC Living is the second of three residential phases within the $200 million mixed-use, mixed-income Ogden Commons community developed by Habitat in partnership with Sinai Chicago. Resident move-ins at The Junction at OC Living have also begun.
The new four-story building represents a $38 million investment and will deliver 75 apartments with 76% of the residences reserved as affordable housing units, including 30 apartments that are designated Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) units. The remaining units will be market rate. Residents will be able to choose from a mix of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments designed to house a range of income levels.
This leasing and move-in milestone at The Junction at OC Living follows last year’s successful lease-up of Ogden Commons’ first residential building, The Boulevard at OC Living, which was delivered in 2024 and fully leased in 2025. Located at 1325 S. Washtenaw Ave., The Boulevard at OC Living comprises 92 apartments, 90% of which are affordable, including 37 CHA units, with the remaining residences offered at market rate.
“The start of leasing at The Junction at OC Living builds on the strong momentum we established with The Boulevard, as evidenced by the high interest from prospective residents across both affordable and market-rate residences,” said Matt Fiascone, president of Habitat. “This latest phase of Ogden Commons reflects a long-standing commitment by Habitat and its partners to providing high-quality, accessible housing as we continue to invest in the long-term vitality of North Lawndale.”
Residents of The Junction at OC Living have access to a range of amenities, including a resident lounge, fitness center, on-site laundry facilities, management and social services offices, a package and mail room, bike storage and accessory parking. Outdoor features include landscaped green space with lighted walking paths, bike racks and a rubber-surfaced children’s tot lot with play structures. Apartments boast open floor plans, walk-in closets, digital thermostats and kitchens equipped with energy-efficient stainless-steel appliances and quartz countertops.
The Junction at OC Living is steps from Ogden Commons’ 45,000-square-foot, three-story commercial building, completed in 2021. The commercial component is home to Sinai Chicago’s One Lawndale Community Care and Surgery Center, a Wintrust Bank branch and La Catedral Cafe & Restaurant. By offering new housing, community-focused retail and essential healthcare services, Ogden Commons is creating a popular neighborhood hub for the entire North Lawndale area.
Ogden Commons’ upcoming third residential phase, The Parkline at OC Living, will include townhome and multi-flat units with larger floor plans designed for families. Upon full buildout, Ogden Commons will encompass more than 350 mixed-income residential units.
Habitat developed Ogden Commons in partnership with Sinai Chicago, supported by a combination of public and private financing, including city of Chicago TIF funds; CHA capital and rental subsidies; IHDA Low-Income Housing Tax Credits; and long-term rental subsidies with additional financial support from Bank of America and LISC. McHugh Construction serves as the general contractor, and Solomon Cordwell Buenz is design architect.
