AUSTIN, TX - Austin, Texas-based Campus Advantage is taking another bite of the Big Apple as it enters the New York City student housing market as manager of the University House, which will serve as a residence hall for students attending classes at colleges in and around Manhattan’s East Village.
Campus Advantage will make University House an asset to the community by bringing to the 535-bed property its years of experience in the student housing industry. Its highly successful Students First™ Residence Life Program provides student residents with the resources they need to succeed personally, academically and socially. This program features the LaunchU™ platform, which consists of an online Success Portal™ for residents, webinars, resident networking opportunities and onsite programs.

University House will open for the 2014/15 school year and is located in the heart of the East Village in a former New York City elementary school. The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art and the Joffrey Ballet School already have signed 15-year leases for space for their students, but two floors remain available for lease to other schools to reserve living space for students.

Located next to Tompkins Square Park, University House will offer the full amenities of a college dormitory, including group study areas, a computer lounge, private music rooms, private study rooms, game room, TV media lounge, fitness center, yoga studio, art studios, student health center, cafe and bike storage. Each suite will have its own bathroom, kitchen and space for storage. It also will feature the latest in technology and security for residents.
A recent study determined that Manhattan faces a student housing bed shortfall of 57,000 beds. University House will help satisfy some of this need and will double the current housing supply of both Cooper Union and the Joffrey Ballet School.
