GoodVets Leases Retail Space at 198-Unit Optima Lakeview Apartment Community Located in Chicago’s Lakeview Neighborhood

GLENCOE, IL - Design-driven real estate development firm Optima, Inc. today announced GoodVets, a Chicago-based full-service veterinary care provider, has leased ground-floor retail space at Optima Lakeview, a 198-unit luxury rental community at 3478 N. Broadway in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood. The 2,656-square-foot Lakeview GoodVets location is under construction and on track to open in December 2023.

GoodVets, which is known for its unique approach to partnering with veterinarian-owners, offers a comprehensive range of veterinary services, including preventive care, surgery, dentistry and wellness programs. The Lakeview site represents GoodVets’ sixth Chicago-area office and its second location within an Optima, Inc. apartment building, joining GoodVets Streeterville office, which opened inside the 57-story Optima Signature tower in 2018.

Designed and developed by award-winning architect David Hovey Sr. and completed in 2022, Optima Lakeview occupies the former site of a shuttered Treasure Island Foods grocery store. The mixed-use building offers one-, two- and three-bedroom rental residences; ground-floor commercial retail space; and residential amenities including a heated rooftop pool designed for year-round use, an indoor basketball/pickleball court, a sports lounge and a golf simulator.

“GoodVets’ commitment to delivering high-quality animal care aligns perfectly with Optima’s mission to foster vibrant mixed-use destinations that provide much-needed services to our residents as well as the neighborhood at large,” said David Hovey Sr., FAIA, CEO of Optima, Inc. “Based on the overwhelming feedback we’ve received from residents at Optima Signature, GoodVets Lakeview should have a solid customer base with the residents of Optima Lakeview, but also be a valuable and convenient addition to the high-traffic pedestrian corridor along Broadway, bringing numerous benefits to area pet owners.”

The upcoming GoodVets location will supplement Optima Lakeview’s existing pet-friendly amenities, including a pet spa and a 2,000-square-foot heated dog park featuring landscaping, comfortable seating and pet-friendly turf. The building also offers services such as on-site grooming, dog-walking and in-home pet-sitting. Optima Lakeview is within walking distance of the Chicago lakefront, Waveland Park and Belmont Dog Beach, making it one of the best places in the neighborhood to own a dog.
