ATLANTA, GA - Cortland, a vertically integrated, multifamily real estate investment, development, and management company, has appointed Manjul Ramchandani as Executive Vice President of Client Relations and Capital Markets, a key strategic role to support the firm’s diverse investor partnerships in the US and overseas.
Ramchandani will report to Cortland’s Senior Managing Partner, Head of Client Relations and Capital Markets, Ned Stiker, and will be responsible for raising capital from institutional clients and consultants for all investment strategies and vehicles for the firm, one of the most active multifamily investors in the market.
“Creating and positioning real estate products for investors to raise capital and further grow investment management businesses has been an area I have focused on throughout my career,” Ramchandani said. “I am excited to join Cortland, a leading multifamily firm with tremendous growth potential, and be part of such a talented team.”
Ramchandani has extensive executive experience in capital raising and business development in the real estate private equity sector, most recently serving as Managing Director of Real Estate Capital Advisory for Evercore in New York. There he helped lead a team of 30, advising and raising capital from institutional investors worldwide. Prior to Evercore, he was a Managing Director of Real Assets Capital Advisory for Greenhill & Co in New York. Previously, he also worked at Credit Suisse and Lazard. Ramchandani will be based in Cortland’s office in Greenwich, Connecticut.
“Manjul brings an extensive array of long-term relationships and a well-earned reputation of the highest integrity and credibility among some of the largest and most important investors globally,” said Stiker. “We are delighted to have him joining Cortland to expand our ability to serve our LPs through best-in-class knowledge, communication, and his highly responsive approach.”
Cortland’s President of Investment Management, Jason Kern, said the appointment will help support Cortland’s increasingly large and diverse group of global institutional investor partners. “We are extremely excited to be adding a senior industry talent of Manjul’s caliber. Manjul’s decades of building relationships and raising capital from a wide swath of real estate investors around the globe will add immeasurably to Cortland’s continued growth,” said Kern. “As importantly, Manjul’s reputation in the market as an incredibly high-quality individual will enhance our already strong corporate culture of collaboration, customer service, and innovation.”
