ATLANTA , GA - Cortland Colburn, a new luxury apartment community in the heart of Orlando’s entertainment district welcomed its first residents this week. The community was developed in partnership with Cortland, a vertically integrated, multifamily real estate investment, development, and management company, and StreetLights Residential, a national leader in multifamily development.
Located in the master-planned Celebration community, Cortland Colburn sits in the heart of Island Village and is surrounded by single-family terrace, bungalow, garden, village, manor and estate homes, townhouses, and condos. The community will include 10,000 square feet of retail space chosen with the resident in mind.
“This was a unique opportunity to marry the best-in-class design and development skills of StreetLights with the value Cortland brings as a resident-centric brand focused on hospitality and creating exceptional living experiences,” said Chris Fletcher, Executive Vice President of Development at Cortland. “We have been thrilled by the opportunity to partner with them on this incredible community as we are committed to raising the standard of apartment living across the country.”
The community includes 300 apartment homes with floor plans ranging from 756 to 1,772 square feet, all with wood-style flooring, high-end kitchens with custom cabinetry, and built-in island storage. The homes also feature an integrated workstation, motion-activated lighting in closets, rain-style shower faucets, and a built-in Sonos smart speaker system.
“Streetlights Residential believes in crafting beautiful neighborhoods that lift the human spirit. Cortland Colburn embraces Celebration’s commitment to an urban, walkable environment and classic design principles,” said Edward Wood, Senior Vice President of Development at StreetLights Residential. “We’re honored to join one of the greatest residential communities in the country.”
Cortland Colburn is centered around a stunning resort-style pool with a clubhouse and fitness center in the heart of Island Village that was developed by StreetLights Residential and will be open to all Celebration residents. An additional private clubhouse for Cortland Colburn residents includes a series of unique gathering spaces designed to look like a European pantry and tearoom with hosting capabilities, a maker’s room, collaborative art zones, and co-working spaces. The community also features a lounge with connected outdoor space, lakeside walking trails, bike storage and repair, a pet wash and park, and a fitness center with two flex studios featuring spin bikes and private training.
“The entertainment corridor of Orlando was one of the hardest hit areas in the country following the start of the COVID pandemic. However, during this period of major uncertainty, our data-driven approach gave us the confidence to double down on our development footprint here,” said Fletcher. “This was the perfect opportunity for Cortland to continue to grow our presence in the region.”
The multifamily firm has opened two other new developments in Central Florida: the first phase of Cortland ChampionsGate in Davenport, which welcomed residents in November, and the first phase of Cortland Riverview near Tampa began welcoming residents in January. Cortland already operates 36 apartment communities in Florida.
