The nearly $8 million project has leased half of the apartments which are conveniently located near Winn Dixie, The Bon Marche Community Park, BREC Independence Community Park and public transportation.
All units have Energy Star appliances which include a washer and dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator, stove and microwave. Units also feature vinyl plank flooring in the kitchen and living areas, ceramic tile in the bathrooms and plush carpeting in the bedrooms. Manicured landscaping surrounds the playground equipped with a gazebo and picnic areas with grills for families to enjoy. There is ample parking and carports for the residents. All first floor units are also Fair Housing Accessible.
Residents can gather indoors in a furnished clubhouse with a giant flat screen television, kitchen area, fitness room and a business center with complimentary Wi-Fi on all computers.

Funding for Woodcrest was made possible through several sources including but not limited to J.P. Morgan Chase Bank; State of Louisiana - Office of Community Development, Disaster Recovery Unit; East Baton Rouge Parish OCD; Louisiana Housing Corporation; United States Treasury Department (TCAP); Stratford Capital Group and Hancock Bank.
The Woodcrest Apartment Homes complex was designed by The Weber Group, Inc, known for their minimal environmental impact, safe access, appropriate utilities and proper design.
