RMK Management Named Property Manager for 356-Unit Vita Luxury Apartments on Grant Active Adult Community in Merrillville, Indiana

CHICAGO, IL - RMK Management Corp., one of the Midwest’s largest market-rate apartment management firms, has been named property manager for Vita Luxury Apartments on Grant, a 356-unit active adult community at 8400 Grant Circle in Merrillville, Ind.

Less than an hour’s drive from Chicago, the property was built in 2009 and currently is undergoing multiple significant improvements. Renovations to common areas and apartments began this fall.

Located off U.S. Route 30 about 20 minutes south of Gary, Ind., Vita Luxury Apartments on Grant offers convenient access to a wide range of restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores and other retailers along Route 30 and State Road 53. Residents are also less than a 10-minute drive from South Lake Mall, a Costco wholesale store, various medical offices, Methodist Hospital, Hidden Lake Park, a public golf course and Innsbrook Country Club.

Vita Luxury Apartments offers one- and two-bedroom apartments in four buildings, each with common area spaces and elevators. Apartments, which feature open floor plans with one to two baths, measure 750 to 1,440 square feet. Rents range from $1,200 to $1,750 per month. Per plan, apartments offer step-in showers, walk-in closets, fireplaces, and decks or balconies.

Amenities at the pet-friendly Vita Luxury Apartments include an outdoor pool, large community room, library, billiards room, fitness center and private theater. Garage parking is available for residents, while visitors can use guest surface parking spaces.  

Since August, the development has been undergoing improvements to common areas, such as the remodeled lobbies, fitness center and private theater; new roofs on each building; refreshed hallways; and enhanced landscaping and seasonal floral beds with replacement trees and bushes. A new dog park also will be created.

Updates to apartments, to be made as leases turn over, will include new flooring throughout; new granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and lighting fixtures in kitchens; and new in-unit washers and dryers.

RMK Management plans to add a shuttle bus and appoint a resident lifestyle coordinator to facilitate resident outings and events, such as group exercise classes, game nights and casino nights.

“While people living in active adult communities value their independence, many also are looking to socialize with other residents who share similar situations or interests,” Rossi said. “Our team looks forward to hosting resident events such as special dinners, wine tastings, and gatherings in the community room and by the pool, to help residents get to know our staff as well as each other and hopefully develop friendships.”
