ANF Group Selected as General Contractor for Barrington Brothers' 282-Unit The Kavista Multifamily Development in Miami Area

CORAL GABLES, FL - ANF Group, Inc., a full-service construction firm providing construction management, general contracting, development, and design-build services, announced today that the firm has been named general contract for The Kavista, a 282-unit, eight-story residential development located in the Village of El Portal neighborhood in Miami-Dade County.

The project is being developed by Barrington Brothers LLC, a family-owned and operated company that seeks opportunistic real estate investments throughout South Florida.  Located at 495 N.E. 83rd St., The Kavista will offer one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, and ground floor live-work units ranging from 559 to 1,133 square feet.

“We are excited to be partnering with Barrington Brothers to build their fourth multifamily development in this historic neighborhood,” said Al Fernandez, president of ANF Group.  “The Kavista will be a well-amenitized multifamily development for this upcoming, vibrant community and further strengthen its urban corridor.”

The Kavista’s community amenities include 351 parking spaces, a resort-style pool and deck, outdoor grilling area with seating, co-working space, theater, fitness center, and electric vehicle charging stations. In addition, the interior courtyard and landscaping design will have a bird-friendly environment filled with a variety of trees and plants to attract a wide range of popular birds.

“This project is our fourth residential development in a historic neighborhood; therefore, it was very important for us to select a general contractor that has expertise in building multifamily projects,” said Ken Barrington Managing Director of Barrington Brothers. “ANF is a well-established firm who’s committed to building quality construction. Their attention to detail and passion for work were among the key factors that influenced our decision.”

Inspired by Native American lifeways and culture, The Kavista’s interior design celebrates early Miami-Dade history. Its color schemes and furnishings pay tribute to the Tequesta Tribe, who were one of the first tribes that settled in South Florida near Biscayne Bay in the present-day Miami.  The Tequesta built many villages at the mouth of the Miami River and along the coastal islands including what is today the Village of El Portal.

Barrington Brothers has created and sustained three multi-housing developments comprising 190 units just across the street from The Kavista.

Founded in 1981, ANF Group is perhaps best known for building the $80 million Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, the $50 million Nova Southeastern University Center for Collaborative Research Facility in Davie, and for its work on approximately 150 different projects for Memorial Healthcare System.  ANF is a family-owned and operated business led by Alberto Fernandez, Jr., Nelson Fernandez, and Alberto Gil. While continuing to maintain its healthcare-sector focus, the firm continues to expand into multifamily, residential, and industrial spaces.
