RAM Partners Managing Partner Martha Logan Leaves Mark on The Multifamily Housing Industry With Epic 50-Year Career Span

ATLANTA, GA - After 20 years with RAM Partners LLC (RAM), and nearly 50 years in the multi-family industry, Managing Partner Martha Logan is retiring at the end of the month.

She has helped grow the award-winning property management company from its earliest days as a subsidiary of Post Properties. Today RAM manages more than 50,000 units across the country; home to more than 150,000 residents.

Post Properties launched RAM Partners in 1989. Logan joined in 1991 as Vice President and was promoted to President in 1993. In 1995 she moved to Post Management, which she oversaw until 2001.

In 2001, RAM President Bill Leseman persuaded Logan to partner with him after RAM split from Post Properties. At the time, RAM managed approximately 18,000 units. It has nearly tripled in size since.

“Martha Logan is our lynchpin. Her passion sets the standard for what makes RAM unique. She always understood our success is a result of our people,” said Leseman. “No employee, property or client was insignificant to Martha. She led RAM with her her heart and soul.”

Logan started in the multi-family industry in 1974 as a leasing agent in her hometown of Athens, GA. In the late ’70s, she moved to Atlanta to manage a larger property.

In 1982, she joined Johnstown American Companies, where she served as a Vice President, helping to grow the company to more than 300,000 units. These experiences prepared her for her transition to RAM in 1991.

In Martha’s experience in property management, she’s been known to say while a lot has changed over the last 48 years, more has stayed the same.

“The most important thing is always the people; from the residents to the leasing agents to maintenance to the clients — the people I work with every day are my favorite part of the job,” Logan said. “Applying the Golden Rule day in and day out is how I try to manage, and helping people grow in this industry is satisfying.”

Logan is known in the apartment industry as an innovator and implementer of ideas like RAM Gives, a charitable fund driven by the employees at RAM. This philanthropic philosophy ensures RAM’s giving is extended throughout the company and into the communities where RAM has a presence.

“I wanted to focus on giving back so it would be impactful and meaningful for our employees,” Logan said. “Our people on-site determine where to give and who to support. It is great for team building; plus, it’s the right thing to do.”

After leaving RAM, Logan hopes to spend more time supporting her ongoing philanthropic endeavors and giving back to the community.

“It’s been a good run,” she said. “Now it’s time to see what the next generation can accomplish.”
