Azulón at Mesa Verde Apartment Community Honored at 55+ Housing Council SAGE Awards

COSTA MESA, CA - Azulón at Mesa Verde, a 215-unit age-qualified market rate apartment community now under construction in Costa Mesa, received recognition as an “On the Boards” Project of the Year winner from the 55+ Housing Council, a special interest council of the Building Industry Association of Southern California. The group honored its SAGE Awards winners at the 18th annual awards program and dinner at The Turnip Rose in Costa Mesa on November 8, 2012.

Attended by more than 160 housing industry professionals, the SAGE Awards recognize projects programs, and individuals that have made outstanding contributions to enhance the quality of life of Southern California residents aged 55+.

The “On the Boards” SAGE award category showcases age-qualified residential communities in the design stage.  SAGE judges recognized Azulón, a resort-inspired 55+ apartment community located on the corner of Harbor Boulevard and Mesa Verde Drive East in Costa Mesa, for its creative incorporation of outdoor spaces, extensive amenities, and easy access to the adjacent neighborhood retail center.

Designed to enhance livability for independent adults, Azulón will be a walkable residential community, where residents can enjoy neighborhood retail, dining and convenience services and choose whether to drive. Other lifestyle amenities include a resort-style saltwater pool and spa, clubhouse with demonstration kitchen and movie theater, fitness center, yoga/Pilates studio, and lush landscaping.

Developed by M.V. Partners, a Segerstrom family partnership, Azulón at Mesa Verde will be the first brand new 55+ market rate apartment community built in Costa Mesa. First occupancy is anticipated in early 2014.

Award nominee submittal packages were reviewed and scored by a panel of judges comprised of past SAGE winners, past presidents of the 55+ Housing Council and others selected for their expertise in the field of senior housing.
