MG Developer’s Beatrice Row Wins Addison Mizner Award for Excellence in Classical and Traditional Architecture Projects

CORAL GABLES, FL - MG Developer proudly announces that its Georgian style project, Beatrice Row, has won the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art 2019 Addison Mizner Award for Florida and the Caribbean. Designed by the renowned Coral Gables-based firm of de la Guardia Victoria Architects & Urbanists, Inc., the sophisticated row of grand townhomes located in the Biltmore Square neighborhood earned the award as the best Multi-Family Residential project for its advancement and promotion of the ideals of classicism and traditional design in architecture and urbanism.

The awards event, which was held on February 8 in Palm Beach, Florida, celebrated the achievement of the finest practitioners in the fields of Architecture, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, Urbanism as well as Craftsmanship and Construction. Beatrice Row was awarded an AMA medal by a panel of jurors selected from among architects, designers and academics recognized for their knowledge and experience in the practice and theory of classical and traditional architecture.

“We are thrilled that Beatrice Row has received such an honorable recognition for its beauty and essence that elevates the status of Coral Gables living and design,” said Alirio Torrealba, CEO of MG Developer. “Working alongside Maria de la Guardia and her team is a privilege that allows us to realize a unique vision that is only offered in Coral Gables’ Biltmore Square.”

“It has been a pleasure for us to have worked with MG Developer and their team to create Beatrice Row,” said Maria de la Guardia of DLGV Architects & Urbanists, Inc. “When we began working together, we realized that our vision for this community were in complete alignment, so it was a perfect match for creating a unique and singular project that brings elegance to the neighborhood and Coral Gables.  We are truly happy and very proud of what we have achieved!”

Located at 744 Biltmore Way, the Townhouse street elevation runs the length of the block from corner to corner in the manner of the English Terrace housing, much like the renowned Royal Crescent in the City of Bath and the terrace row homes in London.  Beatrice Row features a textured brick base, carved stone details and hand crafted bronze-finished balconies.

The grand townhomes’ main entry and doorways are found directly on the sidewalk. Upon entry, guests are welcomed into a foyer area that has a beautifully decorated curving staircase that connects every floor and leads to the Piano Nobile on the second level.  As with Renaissance-era architecture, the Piano Nobile is where the main living spaces are and include the living room, dining room, kitchen, family room as well as a garden terrace.  Expansive arched windows in the living area allow the rays of light to reflect through the staircase which illuminates every floor accessible by a private elevator. The living room balconies provide views of the lush green canopies of the mahogany trees on the street as well as the magnificent ficus.

Beatrice Row is a three-story residential community of luxury townhomes boasting over 5,500 square feet. With a distinct level of elegant ‘row’ living, each townhome offers four bedrooms, four bathrooms and a powder room throughout three levels. The first level offers a 4-car garage with service area, as well as a walk-in laundry room, library and full bath. The second level serves as the home’s principal social floor, leading to a magnificent entryway displaying meticulously designed staircase, gourmet kitchens with refined custom cabinetry, Carrara countertops and premium appliances that create the ideal setting for high-end contemporary living. Other details such as private elevators, smart home automation, and expansive covered terraces accentuate the comforts of an opulent lifestyle. The third level of the home features the master suite with spa and a full bathroom decorated with arches.
