ARA’s South Florida Team Expands Operations

BOCA RATON, FL - Atlanta-headquartered ARA, the largest privately-held, full-service investment advisory brokerage firm in the nation focusing exclusively on the multihousing industry, announces that Troy Ballard has joined the team as Vice President South Florida Land Division.

Troy brings more than a dozen years of experience with respect to development, entitlements, and land planning.  Prior to joining ARA, Troy was a founding partner and President of TM Real Estate Group, LLC, a real estate organization providing development, advisory, and management services for multiple asset classes with a core focus on multi-family, mixed use, and land projects.  He supervised all aspects of internal operations across the spectrum of services performed by TM and also served as Court Appointed Receiver on over 20 projects throughout Florida.

Troy’s experience also includes tenure as Development Partner and President of Development for BF Group, LLC where he managed over $300 million in development, conversions, acquisitions and dispositions, as well as Sr. Project Director for The Related Group of Florida where he was involved in numerous residential, retail and mixed-use projects including the award winning Cityplace in West Palm Beach, Florida, consisting of 600 residential units and 600,000 square feet of retail space. While at Related, Troy also directed entitlement and development activities on several other mixed use and midrise projects and directly oversaw condo and townhouse sales activity of over $200 million.

According to ARA Florida Principal, Dick Donnellan, “We have been active in the land services arena for years and have watched the demand for this service line grow exponentially. As a dedicated Land Broker, Troy is already creating values for our clients. His ability to conceptualize workable and marketable development solutions is impressive.   Land in Florida has become a very complex asset class. Troy has the knowledge, experience and skill sets required to navigate through the myriad of issues that can arise in a land deal.”

Donnellan added, “The scope of Troy’s focus includes all aspects of land transactions and client relationships including underwriting and valuations, marketing, market research, contract negotiations, and business development. Given his depth of experience and unique qualifications, this is an excellent fit for ARA, our clients and for Troy.”

Ballard is a graduate of the University of Miami where he majored in Architecture with minors in Real Estate Finance, Business Administration, and Art History.
