Hunt Named 2nd Largest Multifamily Builder
EL PASO, TX - Hunt Building Company, Ltd., an affiliate of Hunt Companies, Inc., headquartered in El Paso, Texas, was ranked 2nd among the nation's top builders of multifamily units in 2007 by Builder Magazine. The ranking is based on Hunt's 9,366 units started in 2007, and is up 114% from units started in 2006 and from a rank of 4th largest. The magazine's annual top rankings issue highlights the country's largest builders, and names the Top 50 Multifamily Rental Builders.

M. L. Hunt, President and CEO of Hunt Building Company, attributed the company's increase in multifamily units built mainly through military public-private venture contracts. "For over thirty years, Hunt Building has provided the U.S. Department of Defense with design and construction of quality military family housing," said Hunt. "That expertise has led us to participate in more public-private venture programs, and in 2007, we received a number of awards for the military's public-private ventures." Hunt added that the company will continue its pursuit of PPV business for the military as well as other governmental areas and private, market-rate rental projects.

Hunt Building Company has built or is currently constructing over 82,000 housing units across 38 states and has built more military family housing projects in the U.S. than any other entity.

Founded in 1947, Hunt Building Company, Ltd. is an affiliate of Hunt Companies, Inc., which provides a full range of development, design-build, construction management, investment, and asset management services across the country.
