MALVERN, PA - Balfour Beatty Communities, a nationally recognized residential real estate investment and management firm, continues building on its success in the multifamily housing market. Following its recent engagement by Philadelphia- based Sky Management to manage close to 800 units in Pittsburgh, PA, Balfour Beatty Communities’ portfolio has grown to more than 50,000 units.
While Balfour Beatty Communities is long established and well respected in both the military and student housing sectors, this new contract reflects the organization’s strategic, long-term approach for leveraging its existing success in the conventional multifamily market.
A flexible approach is the key to Balfour Beatty Communities’ success according to president Chris Williams. “One of the lessons we learned early in our work with military and student housing is that each project has a unique set of objectives and requirements,” Williams says. “Our team is not only focused on meeting individual project needs through customized management and renovation solutions but on the needs of our partners, clients and our residents. Consequently, we have numerous opportunities for growth, whether through the creation of partnerships with multifamily brokerage firms, private and institutional owners, lenders and equity investors or through new construction. Additionally, we are targeting geographic areas where we can draw upon existing resources.”
Williams believes two of Balfour Beatty Communities’ greatest assets as it continues to expand are its commitment to customer service and property management expertise. “In this past year alone, our teams took home more than 120 awards for customer service in the military housing market,” Williams notes. “Our goal is to apply that same level of professionalism to our residents’ wellbeing in the traditional multifamily housing market. As part of Balfour Beatty plc, a global leader in construction services, support services and infrastructure investment, it’s also important to note we offer a depth of property management expertise few firms can match. I’m confident this next year will be an exciting one as we continue expanding our portfolio.”
