Website Links Renters With Affordable Housing

New Story
KANSAS CITY, KS - Kansas Housing Resources Corp. has launched a free, Web-based locator service that can link people with affordable rental housing throughout the state. The site, kshousingsearch.org allows landlords, including providers of critically needed affordable and special-needs housing, to advertise their properties free.

"With 12,000 hits made during the last month, this service already lists over 11,000 units in 30 counties and will potentially serve as 'one-stop shopping' for rental housing," said Norma Phillips. KHRC deputy director. "The site will be an important resource for Kansas communities facing active storm seasons, which often leave families searching for available housing."

Properties listed on kshousingsearch.org include housing offered by private landlords and public entities. Many of the affordable rental units developed through KHRC's multifamily housing tax credit program and HOME Rental program are listed. Prospective tenants can search online 24 hours a day or call a toll-free bilingual search support call center.
