Senior Lifestyle Opens North Shore Place Assisted Living and Memory Care Community

NORTHBROOK, IL - North Shore Place, a Senior Lifestyle Corporation community, celebrated its grand opening in Northbrook, IL., with an official ribbon cutting ceremony. North Shore Place is the company's first Signature Collection community in the United States. Northbrook's Village President Sandra Frum, as well as Northbrook's Chamber of Commerce, city officials and community leaders were in attendance for the VIP event.

North Shore Place, a premier assisted living and memory care community, offers luxury apartments and innovative amenities for residents to live their ideal lifestyle. The community provides deluxe restaurants, common areas designed for enjoying life with family and friends, which are available 24-hour, seven-days a week, nursing care, and a host of security systems. Assisted living residents enjoy the same freedom and life enrichment programming options as independent living residents; however, they also receive an added level of care, service, and security personalized just for them.

"We're honored to open North Shore Place, the company's first Signature Collection community, in the city of Northbrook," said Senior Lifestyle Corporation's Executive Vice President Jerrold Frumm. "As the baby boomer generation enters the assisted living space, they demand a higher quality of living. North Shore Place not only meets but exceeds the standard and is changing the face of assisted living in the United States."

The construction of the new state-of-the-art facility began on February 11, 2013 and generated more than 200 jobs for Northbrook and the surrounding area. The seven-acre development is 170,000-square feet with 156 apartments.

"Senior Lifestyle Corporation is a leading company in the assisted living and memory care industry and we are excited to welcome North Shore Place to the Northbrook community," said Village President Sandra Frum. "We recognize the tremendous opportunities North Shore Place has to offer and believe it will be a wonderful addition to the Chicagoland area and beyond."

In addition to assisted living, North Shore Place also offers memory care, a distinct form of specialized, long-term nursing support that caters to patients with Alzheimer's disease, dementia and other types of memory illnesses. Memory care specialists work directly with staff, residents and their families to ensure residents receive the comprehensive care and attention they deserve.

"Our purpose is to be a resource to prospective residents and families, ensuring they understand their options," said North Shore Place Executive Director Jane Woloson. "The supportive team at North Shore Place prove that aging in the right place is truly a life enriching experience for everyone - residents, families, and staff."

The community is conveniently located in the Chicagoland area, near the Edens Expressway, making it easy for family and friends to visit their loved ones. It is also located near Chicago's Botanic Garden, Ravinia Music Festival, Northbrook Court Mall and Lake Michigan.

"North Shore Place has done a tremendous job making me feel at home, and is conveniently located near my family and friends," said North Shore Place's first resident Amy Flink. "The dining is excellent, the decor makes for lovely surroundings and the staff is so accommodating. Each and every day is a unique and personalized experience enhancing my lifestyle, and I wouldn't want it any other way."

The Signature Collection includes luxury amenities for residents to enjoy. Common areas to play pool or cards, a movie theatre to watch a favorite film, a courtyard by the pond, and an upscale bistro to enjoy with their grandchildren are just a few of the features included in the lease. Residents will also enjoy full kitchens, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, in-unit washer and dryer, routine housekeeping and nutritious seasonal cuisine prepared by the executive chef.
