NATIONAL NEWS - For the second consecutive year, Provident Resources Group received national recognition for providing outstanding, quality affordable housing. The nonprofit group's Sunset Ranch and Sierra Pines apartment communities were honored by the Alexandria, Va.-based National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA). Each apartment community was recognized as a National Community of Quality by NAHMA for meeting stringent criteria when judging affordable housing communities. Through NAHMA's Communities of Quality National Recognition program, affordable multifamily rental properties are certified as having achieved a superior standard of excellence for the high quality manner in which they are maintained and managed.
"All our affordable housing properties are professionally managed by people who care, and we continuously strive to deliver the best programs and services to our residents. We maximize the resources at our disposal and leverage our local personnel and facilities as well as our corporate expertise in managing affordable housing communities," said Steve Hicks, president and CEO of Provident Resources Group. "Receiving NAHMA's nationally recognized Community of Quality honor for a second year in a row means we are fulfilling our mission to provide secure, comfortable, quality affordable housing for lower income families."
To be recognized as a National COQ, a property must receive a high score based on six criteria: physical inspections, employee credentials, financial management, programs and services, endorsements, and photographs and reports. Applicants must score a minimum total of 225 points in these categories. Those that score more than 325 points are encouraged to participate in NAHMA's annual COQ awards competition. Both the Sunset Ranch and Sierra Pines apartment communities scored above 325 points. NAHMA acknowledged that both communities provide the highest quality affordable housing to lower-income residents.
Provident Resources Group was honored for Sunset Ranch and Sierra Pine's resident services and programs, such as providing engaging after school programs; specialized healthcare workshops; financial assistance programs; emotional support programs; and wellness workshops. Partnerships with churches, counseling services, medical providers, police and fire departments, the YMCA, and the United Way help deliver the various programs to residents.
