Affirmed Housing Group partnered with the City of Carson to develop and manage the community, which features 40 apartment homes comprised of one, two, and three-bedroom units, each with its own storage locker. Amenities include covered parking, a community room, a computer lab, a laundry room, a tot lot, and a barbecue area. Arbor Green staff will provide homework assistance, life skills training, and cooking classes in the community room for residents. The affordable community will serve households earning between 30%-60% of Los Angeles County's AMI.
The community's innovative energy-efficient design allows residents to pay 80% less in monthly utilities. Key sustainability features include rooftop solar photovoltaic systems that collect and offset nearly 100% of the building's total energy usage, drought-tolerant landscaping that conserves 47% more water, efficient plumbing fixtures in every unit, 100% high efficacy lighting fixtures throughout the entire property, and 14 basic community resources that reduce the need to drive.
