WholeLife Companies Receives $55 Million Bond Approval to Build Active Adult Living Community

SAN ANTONIO, TX - At the bi-monthly meeting of the Bexar County Commission, the commission unanimously approved a $55 million tax-exempt bond to finance the eligible costs of the acquisition, construction, installation and equipping of a WholeLife Traditions active adult living community in Cibolo Canyon. A 501(c)3 organization, Samarian Housing, will own the community.

“We are thankful and profoundly honored to be working with the Bexar County Commissioners on this great addition to the county,” said John B. Lowery, Founder and CEO of the WholeLife Companies.

WholeLife Companies develops and builds lease-based communities that fulfill market preferences for healthy living, integrated fitness and wellness in a maintenance free environment, without requiring a large capital outlay for purchase. WholeLife communities are a decidedly upscale lease based concept designed to support a better, smarter, healthier and more convenient lifestyle.

The WholeLife Traditions community in Cibolo Canyon will be a 154-unit development, with units from 1500 to 2000 square feet, and will have the look and feel of fine traditional houses appropriate to the surrounding community. Landscaping, sidewalks, and streetlights complete the look and feel of a traditional American neighborhood. The community includes an expansive and functional WholeLife Club as a focal point for neighborhood life, containing space for gatherings and events, a state of the art fitness center, pool, game room and community services such as the concierge. Everything is included in monthly rental fees.

The community will be located directly across the street from the world-class J.W. Marriot San Antonio Hill Country Resort and Spa, home to two PGA Tour Tournament Players Club (TPC) golf courses designed by internationally acclaimed architects Pete Dye and Greg Norman.

In addition, WholeLife has identified additional locations for further communities, including an additional location in Houston, TX; as well as Austin and Dallas, TX; Atlanta, GA; Branson, MO; Pigeon Forge, TN; and Oklahoma City, OK.
