GREENBELT, MD - The Bozzuto Group, Abdo Development and Pritzker Realty Group announced that Brookland Works, the first of three luxury apartment communities that will make up Monroe Street Market, has commenced residential leasing.
Monroe Street Market is a multi-phase, mixed-use development located on five city blocks in Washington, D.C., adjacent to the Brookland-CUA Metro station. The development is transforming The Catholic University of America's South Campus into a vibrant mixed-use, transit-oriented community.
"We couldn't be more pleased that Monroe Street Market has met such an untapped demand," said Tom Bozzuto, chairman and CEO, The Bozzuto Group. "It has been an honor to partner with Abdo Development, Pritzker Realty Group and The Catholic University of America to provide the historic Brookland and Edgewood neighborhoods a vibrant, mixed-use environment with immediate access to public transportation."
Brookland Works is the first of Monroe Street Market 's three apartment communities and will welcome its first residents in July. The second community, Portland Flats, will deliver in Fall 2013, and Cornerstone will deliver in Winter 2013/2014.
Brookland Works is a hip, pet-friendly community comprised of 152 apartments, 27 work only artist studios and three retail spaces slated for a possible restaurant, coffee shop and bike shop. The community offers 25 distinct floor plans, including studio, one-bedroom, one-bedroom plus den, and two-bedroom options.
All residences feature large, oversized windows with city views, designer wood style floors and industrial lighting. Luxury kitchens feature stainless steel ENERGY STAR® appliances, granite countertops, and 42" hardwood cabinets. Bathrooms include granite countertops, modern stacked tile in baths, soft gray linen texture tile floors, Moen water-saving fixtures and hardwood vanities with additional storage. Vast closet options are offered and each apartment includes a full-size GE ENERGY STAR® washer and dryer. Juliet balconies are available in select floor plans.
The community's amenities include a lobby lounge with fireplace, television and Apple computers; private study room with seating for eight; express gym with treadmills and ellipticals; and Wi-Fi throughout the common areas.
When all phases are complete, Monroe Street Market will feature nearly 20,000 square feet of amenity space, which will include indoor and outdoor lounges with fireplaces; a 24-hour fitness center with yoga/Pilates studio; billiards; E-cafe; outdoor grilling stations; terrace spa-style pool; covered veranda with seating and heaters; as well as a quiet outdoor courtyard.
Recognizing that the community is an extension of the well-established artistic neighborhood of Brookland/Edgewood, art is fundamental part of Monroe Street Market , which also offers residents artistic workspaces throughout the common areas.
Like many Bozzuto communities, Brookland Works was designed and built with the environment in mind, including ENERGY STAR® appliances and water-saving fixtures, a web-programmable PEPCO Energy Wise thermostat, low-energy lighting throughout, bike storage, a recycling and green cleaning program, as well as green walls and cool roofs to reduce urban heat.
Brookland Works was developed in partnership by Bozzuto Development Company, Abdo Development, and Pritzker Realty Group, built by Bozzuto Construction Company and will be managed by Bozzuto Management Company.
