HOUSTON, TX - Domus Development LLC, a national provider of development services focused primarily on student housing, recently announced the ground breaking of Lumberjack Lofts, a new student housing development in Nacogdoches, Texas. Located on the west side of Pearl Street, Lumberjack Lofts will be within walking distance to Stephen F. Austin University.
The upscale 310-bed student housing community will be managed by Asset Campus Housing and offer residents their choice of one-, two-, and four bedroom apartment homes. All units will be fully-furnished and include granite countertops, full-sized washers and dryers, and a Memory Foam mattress on each bed. This luxury student housing community will provide residents access to a wide variety of amenities such as: a large outdoor courtyard featuring a resort-style salt water pool, full-sized sand volleyball and basketball court, state-of-the-art fitness center, and a coffee bar and lounge area.
In addition to the Suddenlink Wi-Fi access throughout the entire property and cable television as part of their rental package, Lumberjack Lofts is one of five properties nationwide that will be offering residents Suddenlink2GO. Suddenlink2GO was released in April 2012 and features more than 120,000 full-length TV episodes and movies – all accessible anywhere in the United States, on any computer with high-speed Internet access.
Although Lumberjack Lofts will be Nacogdoches' newest student housing community, it will sit on land that is truly enriched with family history. "The last time this land changed hands was in 1886," according to Eric Jakimier, President of Domus Development. The land had been held in the Hayter family trust for many years; 12 acres of the original 20 acre site was recently donated to the city of Nacogdoches in order to allow for a park and extension of the Banita Creek. Residents who plan on living at Lumberjack Lofts will have direct access to the new park and spectacular views of Nacogdoches' natural surroundings from their individual units.
Lumberjack Lofts follows the completion of Domus' recent development project, Legends at Nacogdoches, which is also managed by ACH and pre-leased to 100% occupancy. "We were thrilled with the successful lease up of Legends at Nacogdoches and the partnership that was formed with Asset Campus Housing; we anticipate the same success with Lumberjack Lofts," said Jakimier.
Lumberjack Lofts will be developed on the other eight acres of the site and will open doors to residents in Fall 2013.
Eric Jakimier has spent the past ten years specifically concentrating on student housing, both university-owned and privately-owned, for the largest student living developers in the country. He has been responsible for everything from site selection and acquisition, through site due-diligence, design consultant management, lender contract negotiation and negotiations with governmental agencies to construction management and project turnover including project accounting and reporting to investors and other interested parties.
