Kimble Ratliff Takes NMHC Government Affairs Post

WASHINGTON, DC - The National Multi Housing Council (NMHC) named Kimble Ratliff to the newly-created position of Director of Government Affairs. Ratliff will cover a variety of housing and finance-related policy issues for the Council’s growing government affairs program.

Ratliff joins NMHC from the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Financial Services where he was a member of the Housing Subcommittee professional staff, working on FHA, flood Insurance, GSE reform, affordable housing, the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and a variety of other mortgage finance and secondary market related issues.

"He brings a wealth of knowledge from Capitol Hill, working on the very issues that are so important to rental housing,” said Cindy Chetti, NMHC Senior Vice President of Government Affairs. “We’re extremely pleased to have Kimble joining our team, as he will play a critical roll in our expanded efforts on behalf the apartment industry.”

Prior to coming to Washington, Kimble worked for a private equity firm in Dallas on their acquisitions team responsible for business valuations and due diligence. He also worked in portfolio analysis for a Birmingham-based investment company servicing multifamily loans. Kimble holds a BA in Public Policy from Southern Methodist University where he also captained the school’s lacrosse team as a three-year starter.

Based in Washington, DC, NMHC is a national association representing the interests of the larger and most prominent apartment firms in the U.S. NMHC’s members are the principal officers of firms engaged in all aspects of the apartment industry, including owners, developers, managers and financiers. One third of Americans rent their housing, and more than 14 percent live in a rental apartment.
