ROCHESTER, NY - Home Properties announced the launch of a new mobile optimized website for renters conducting apartment searches via Smartphones and other mobile devices. Driven by "one-touch" commands, users are able to check real-time availability and reserve apartments for rent, map GPS directions, as well as utilize a click-to-call button to learn more and set up appointments to visit any of the company's apartment communities.
"It was clear we needed to focus on the immediate delivery of actionable information," said Scott Doyle, Senior Vice President, Strategic Property Management for Home Properties. "Renters are busy and often on the road when searching for an apartment, so they need to be able to assess their options and contact us quickly."
The mobile site offers location-based search functionality to ensure relevant apartment search results are delivered based on a user's geographic area. Users also can easily navigate essential information such as floor plans, photos, pricing and amenities, all of which drive informed decisions when renters are searching for an apartment.
According to eMarketer, a marketing news and research service, more than 75% of the U.S. population now subscribes to a mobile phone service and nearly 114 million consumers are expected to access the Internet via mobile in 2012. Google also reports that 50% of all mobile searches are for local goods and services.
"Such a large majority of renters rely on mobile websites to find homes," added Doyle. "The usability and convenience of our site should result in more meaningful online engagement with renters. The point is to make their lives easier."
The Home Properties mobile website supports cross-browser and cross-platform use on Apple, Android and other mobile platforms. To access the mobile version of the site, visit Home Properties corporate website URL at www.homeproperties.com with a mobile browser.
