National Apartment Owner Unveils New Look

DENVER, CO - Apartment Investment and Management Company (Aimco), one of the country's leading owners and operators of apartment homes, has initiated a phased rollout of a new brand identity to reflect its updated approach to serving today's customers.

"The launch of Aimco's new visual identity and marketing collateral are indicative of our commitment to innovation and being responsive to our customers," said Aimco Chairman and CEO Terry Considine.  "With so many echo boomers in the market for quality apartment homes, we're offering a contemporary look, and comforts that fit their lifestyles."

With the 20-34 year-old age group projected to increase by 2.5 million in the next three years and 3.5 million over the next five years, Aimco has updated its amenities to keep pace with these potential customers, 60-70 percent of whom will opt for rental housing. "We offer dog parks, rooftop lounges, open floor plans and organized social activities to help promote the sense of community and make the millennial generation feel more at home," said Considine. "Our marketing strategies have evolved as well, as social media has become an essential tool to connect with this more technologically astute group of customers."

Aimco's business model of owning and operating apartment communities close to employment centers, retail, and resident services also is a good match for echo boomers looking for convenience, flexibility and proximity to work.

The mission of providing quality apartment homes to a broad base of residents across the country is reflected by Aimco's new key-shaped logo and the buildings represented within it.  The tagline "Building Community" describes Aimco's objectives of creating communities for residents, a sense of community among its team members, and the goal of having a positive impact on the community at large.

"Aimco's refreshed brand symbolizes an intensified effort of our team to provide an unmatched level of customer service to our residents," said Keith Kimmel, Aimco's Executive Vice President of Operations. "Aimco has enhanced its customer service program by offering a Home Connect program whereby residents can activate all of their utilities through a single phone call, pre-approval of renter's insurance, and a 30-day satisfaction guarantee which allows residents to terminate their lease in the first month if they are not completely happy with their experience."  These services complement the company's online leasing program, guaranteed 24-hour response to maintenance requests, and comprehensive resident survey process.

Implementation of Aimco's branding initiative will continue over the next several months, and will include the launch of a new website and an enhanced property search site for customers.

Aimco is one of the country's largest owners and operators of both market-rate and affordable apartments, serves nearly 500,000 residents with 648 communities in 42 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.  Aimco common shares are traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol AIV and are included in the S&P 500.
