Home Properties Shows Residents Appreciation

WALTHAM, MA - Home Properties, Inc. (NYSE: HME) today announced the completion of a company-wide Resident Appreciation Week at its apartment communities, including those in the Boston area. The week was filled with activities to express appreciation to residents of Home Properties' apartment communities.

The inaugural Resident Appreciation Week was held June 5 through June 11 and events were scheduled at all Home Properties' Boston area apartment communities. At The Heights at Marlborough and The Meadows at Marlborough, the staff hosted daily events that celebrated the residents who make these Home Properties apartment communities true homes.

According to Andrew Hughes, Property Manager for both The Heights and The Meadows, the week brought together not only adult residents, but focused on celebrating the entire family.

"We appreciate the kids in our communities, too, and added events like 'Treats at the Bus Stop,' just for them," said Hughes. "Even though the day was a bit rainy, it didn't dampen the spirits of the kids; they loved all the treats! It was just as much fun for us to see their reaction to the surprise."

Adults received a complimentary donut and coffee before work on Monday morning and all residents had the opportunity to participate in a "Decorate Your Balcony" event. "Our residents take so much pride in their homes and it really shows in how they spruce up their balconies," said Hughes. Another highlight of the week was the "cutest pet contest," where residents submitted photos of their furry friends, and the staff voted for their favorite. "Really, the whole point of this week is to provide these events for our residents as a way to let them know how thankful we are for them," continued Hughes. "What is so gratifying is to see the ripple effect these events create – neighbors begin reaching out to each other. That's what makes Home Properties' communities so unique."

Home Properties is a publicly traded apartment real estate investment trust that owns, operates, develops, acquires and rehabilitates apartment communities primarily in selected Northeast and Mid-Atlantic markets.
