Amador Village Receives Environmental Award

Amador Village Receives Environmental Award
SAN MATEO, CA - The City of Hayward is honoring Amador Village Apartments in Hayward, CA with the 2011 Environmental Achievement Award for participation in the residential curbside recycling program. For Prometheus Real Estate Group and the property owner, The Sobrato Organization, the path to sustainability and environmentally-friendly practices at their communities continues to grow with these "green" initiatives: Sustainable landscape practices that utilize drought tolerant plants. Many of our communities are now smoke-free. Low flow plumbing fixtures and energy efficient appliances. Reducing paper use with on-line tools to lease and pay rent, get real-time pricing for available units, purchase renters insurance, manage utilities, log service requests, or reserve a facility. Movement towards paperless online advertising and away from printed advertising.

"We want to take a long-term approach to sustainability by looking at our renovations practices, especially with regard to functional and timeless design," said Cindy Park, Prometheus Real Estate Groups Vice President of Marketing, "every renovation presents an opportunity to fine tune our approach. Where possible, we use energy efficient bulbs and lighting systems for both common areas and residential units."

Since its inception in 1965, Prometheus Real Estate Group has specialized in the development and management of high quality residential properties throughout the Western United States. Today, they are the largest private owner of multi-family properties in the San Francisco Bay area with a growing portfolio of more than 18,000 metropolitan area apartments in Seattle, Portland, OR and Los Angeles.
