CHARLOTTE, NC - Campus Crest Communities, Inc, a leading developer, builder, owner and manager of high-quality, purpose-built student housing, today announced that it has hired Robert Dann as an Executive Vice President of the Company and division president of both Campus Crest Real Estate Management and Campus Crest Development effective April 18, 2011.

Mr. Dann, a 25 year industry veteran, has significant experience in strategic planning, portfolio and asset management and operational execution. Most recently he was president of CSM Lodging Inc, LLC in Minneapolis, Minnesota from October of 2005 until April of 2011. In his capacity at CSM, Mr. Dann oversaw a portfolio of 38 full service, limited service and extended stay hotels totaling 5,415 rooms generating $165 million of revenue with a total staff of over 2,000 employees. Mr. Dann's responsibilities included overall strategic planning for the portfolio, top-line revenue generation, cost controls, new system implementation, renovations, purchasing, development, dispositions, public relations and crisis management. Prior to CSM Lodging, Mr. Dann served as vice president of operations for Interstate Hotels & Resorts from January 2005 to October 2005 as part of a team overseeing a portfolio of 24 hotels for Goldman Sachs tasked with all aspects of operations and strategic plan execution including repositioning and rebranding as well as hold/sell decisions. Prior to that, Mr. Dann served as executive vice president with Boykin Management in Cleveland, Ohio from January 2000 until January 2005 responsible for overseeing 32 full service hotels generating $250 million in revenues, and a workforce of over 4,000. He also has more than 15 years of property level hotel experience with such companies as Ian Schrager Hotels, Helmsley Hotels, Westin and Inter-Continental and is a graduate of the University of Denver with a BSBA in Hotel and Restaurant Management.
The hiring of Mr. Dann will not have an impact to the Company's previously communicated 2011 guidance.
