UDR Launches 3rd Generation Apartment Search
DENVER, CO - UDR, Inc, a leading multifamily real estate investment trust (REIT), today unveiled a new version of its UDR.com website which has been redesigned to make finding an apartment easier and more convenient. The new website strengthens UDR's already robust technology platform with new features tailored to appeal to the company's core 25 to 35-year-old renter customer base, who desire new technology services as evident by their increasing utilization of the company's online services.

"UDR continues its focus incorporating technology into its business service model, and we felt it was necessary to improve the website by including a number of advanced features desired by site users," said Steve Taraborelli, vice president of sales and marketing for UDR. "Prospects looking for an apartment now have access to our very rich apartment-related content, and the easier navigation has been designed to save time by making the entire process more streamlined and user-friendly."

Some of UDR.com's latest customer-focused enhancements include:

A simplified website layout and content making it easier to find apartment information

Latest version of Google Maps and Street Views technology

Conversion Rate Optimization enhancements to increase website lead volume to our sales teams

The ability to save apartment search results for future reference

Improved apartment community online brochures for easier downloads and distribution

Addition of apartment community Walk Scores

Larger viewable floor plans

Integrated applications designed to seamlessly deliver community information

Social media integration of UDR's website content

To add to the online user experience, at select property locations, the website also provides apartment searchers with the ability to view point-of-view video walking tours to experience the community's exterior and interior amenities firsthand.

"We are confident these enhancements will improve the overall user experience and ultimately generate more leases," said Taraborelli. "We considered the advice of our customers and industry experts and incorporated a variety of changes that will further position our website and our company as a leader in the multifamily housing industry."

In addition to the new site, UDR partnered with Trees for the Future, a nonprofit organization focused on helping communities around the world plant trees, to launch its "Trees for a Brochure" program. The program encourages potential residents to view community brochures online instead of taking home a print version. For the estimated 150,000 print brochures that will be saved as a result of the program, Trees for the Future will plant 150,000 trees in Haiti and Kenya to help develop natural resources, control erosion and reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
