The Columbian Unveils Three New Penthouses
CHICAGO, IL - Three new penthouses have made their debut at The Columbian, a South Loop condominium high-rise at Michigan Avenue and Roosevelt Road. "These homes were the developer's reserve," said Sales Director Matt Hollman. "You might say we saved the best for last." They were released for sale with the recent change in the building's ownership, an institutional private equity fund, he added. The trio of three-bedroom penthouses covers the full 41st floor — the last full floor available in the 46-story tower. Each of the homes has a terrace, in-unit laundry and breakfast room.

Unit 4101, the largest of the three at 3,483 square feet, has three-and-a-half baths, a formal dining room, and protected lake views. It is priced at $1,899,900, including two parking spaces. The other two homes have three baths and one parking space. Unit 4102, with southwest exposure, is listed at $1,049,900 for 2,436 square feet. Facing northwest, unit 4103 is listed at $1,099,900 for 2,377 square feet.

Already built out, the penthouses come with high-quality finishes, fixtures and appliances. Hardwood floors extend throughout the living areas, with plush wall-to-wall carpeting in the bedrooms. Kitchens have furniture-grade cabinetry, a Sub-Zero refrigerator/freezer, Viking range and a Bosch dishwasher. Baths feature marble vanities, flooring and surrounds as well as a 6-foot whirlpool tub, separate shower and Toto plumbing fixtures. More design details are available at: www.thecolumbianchicago.com

"Nothing on the market compares with these penthouses," Hollman said. "They're built to last, priced for today's economy and ready for delivery."

The 46-story tower includes 220 luxury condominiums of 760 square feet to 3,690 square feet. Most of the homes have a private outdoor terrace or balcony overlooking Grant and Millennium parks, Lake Michigan and the city.

Designed by DeStefano + Partners, The Columbian has a traditional brick façade with a saw-tooth silhouette for more windows and more views. Because of the 1897 Supreme Court decision that Grant Park be "forever open, clear and free," The Columbian's views will always remain unobstructed.

Amenities include a uniformed staff on duty 24/7, an entertainment suite, and a fitness center professionally equipped with cardio and strength training equipment.

The Columbian is located at the junction of Chicago's Cultural Mile and the Museum Campus. Residents can walk to the Art Institute of Chicago, Symphony Center, Soldier Field, the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium and Adler Planetarium. Loop businesses, neighborhood restaurants, and lakefront recreation are steps away. Convenient public transportation connects directly to shopping on Roosevelt Road and the Magnificent Mile.
