BNY Mellon Scoops Asian Awards
HONG KONG - BNY Mellon received top industry recognition in Asia Asset Management magazine's 2009 'Best of the Best' Awards this week, winning three accolades. This year's Asia Asset Management awards applauded the top performing funds, investment management groups and asset servicing providers that consistently outperformed in a challenging economic environment. The asset management awards were based on performance data submitted by asset managers over three and five years.

BNY Mellon Asset Servicing was awarded the title of 'Best Global Custodian' in Asia-Pacific for the second consecutive year. BNY Mellon also was named 'Best Fund Administrator for Alternative Products'. Standish Mellon Asset Management, part of BNY Mellon Asset Management, was awarded the title of best asset manager in the Global Bonds category over three and five years.

Commenting on winning the coveted global custodian award for the second year in a row, Chong Jin Leow, head of Asia, BNY Mellon Asset Servicing, said: "2009 was a challenging year for everybody and our team worked exceptionally hard to ensure that our services levels did not waver despite the strong headwinds in our industry. In 2010 we will continue to do what we do best: deliver outstanding client service, pioneer new innovative products and attract and retain the best talent the industry has to offer."

Commenting on winning the 'Best Fund Administrator for Alternative Products', Andrew Gordon, Head of Alternative Investment Services for Asia at BNY Mellon, said: "Hedge funds and other alternative managers in Asia are increasingly turning to BNY Mellon not only because of our global strengths, but also because of our local capabilities in the region. They value our sophisticated reporting platform, our reputation for client service and our understanding of their needs as well as our strong balance sheet and high credit ratings. They believe it is vital to choose a partner which has a long term commitment to Asia. We are honoured to have been recognised for our services in the alternative fund administration space."

Commenting on Standish Mellon Asset Management's success at the awards, Desmond MacIntyre, president and chief executive officer of Standish, said: "This is an important achievement as it clearly recognises the consistent performance that we have delivered across our range throughout the difficult market conditions that have prevailed, particularly over the last three years."
