FORT WORTH, TX - Because of its extraordinary focus on safety, AUI Contractors of Fort Worth recently received two significant TEXO safety awards, the Associated General Contractors (AGC) Construction Safety Excellence Award (Heavy Division: 300,001-700,000) and a Platinum Recipient Award in the Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. STEP (Safety Training and Evaluation Process) program.
TEXO is the largest commercial contractors association in Texas and one of the largest affiliated with the national Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC) and The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). With over 1,900 members, the association was created from the consolidation of the North/East Chapter of the Associated General Contractors (QUOIN) and the Associated Builders and Contractors North Texas (ABCNT) in October 2008.
The Construction Safety and Excellence Awards is an ongoing effort by AGC to recognize companies who have developed and implemented excellent safety and loss-prevention programs achieved through management commitment, employee involvement, and program innovation.
Participating in ABC's STEP evaluation provides member companies with the opportunity to measure their safety program's progress from year-to-year and to determine how it compares to the programs of their peers.
AUI's management is so committed to safety throughout the organization, they have six full-time safety personnel on staff, including a Safety Manager, four Safety Technicians, and a Construction Safety Administrator. "We have a comprehensive written Safety & Health Program that is constantly under review, and it gets revised regularly to incorporate current best practices," stated Christian Pieschel, AUI's Safety Manager. "We spend many hours each year focusing on the continuing safety education of our Safety Team and our Operations Teams so that we keep awareness at the forefront."
