Millennium Offers Healthy Choice
ARLINGTON, VA - Residents at the Millennium at Metropolitan Park, a new high-rise luxury apartment building, will enjoy a comprehensive offering of healthy lifestyle features including a non-smoking policy, according to John Chappelear, senior vice president, multifamily and condominium operations for Kettler, the developer and property management company for the 18-story building.

Scheduled for pre-leasing at the end of October and with occupancy beginning this winter, the Millennium is among the first apartment buildings to implement a non-smoking policy that prohibits smoking in all common areas, individual apartments, balconies and terraces and within 25 feet of all entry doors.

Other Millennium healthy lifestyle features include a 58,000-square-foot "green roof park" atop the enclosed parking garage, enclosed bike racks, electric car power outlets in the parking garage, easy access to biking and walking as well as to public transportation.

Each apartment will include Energy Star appliances and light fixtures, programmable thermostats, and individual water and power meters. Low "VOC" (volatile organic compounds) paints, coats, adhesives and sealants have been used throughout each unit.

Additionally, Millennium apartments are equipped with an air filtration system that continuously circulates air from the outside.

Residents at the Millennium will also enjoy convenient pickup of recyclables at their apartment doors, a fitness center featuring interactive equipment and a climbing wall, a swimming pool, spa and business center.

"Beginning with the earliest construction stages of the Millennium, we have been committed to making it stand out for both its attention to being eco-friendly and to also offering the residents the opportunity to enjoy and participate in a healthy lifestyle," said Chappelear.

The Millennium offers studios, one bedrooms, one bedrooms with den, two bedrooms, two bedrooms with den, metro flats and penthouse residences. For more information, including joining the VIP list for updates, visit http://www.metmillennium.com.

The Gramercy, Metropolitan Park's first community, opened in 2007 and is immediately adjacent to the Millennium. Metropolitan Park was planned by Robert A. M. Stern, a world renowned architect, and features a two-acre public park complete with commissioned artwork by local and national artists.
