USGBC Names Portfolio Provider
TAMPA, FL - RedVector, Inc., the leader in online education for the design and construction industry, is supporting the U.S. Green Building Council's (USGBC) goal to drive green market transformation through quality education by becoming a USGBC portfolio provider. Portfolio providers are education providers that have been approved by the USGBC to offer continuing education and professional development courses to green building professionals. RedVector is only the second provider in the nation to earn this status.

"It's an honor to be designated a USGBC portfolio provider, and we are pleased to provide the most current information in sustainable design and green building to our entire customer base of 100,000 design and construction professionals," said Victoria Zambito, Vice President of Content Development at RedVector. "We have created a variety of interactive online courses that focus on sustainable design and green practices and will continue to develop educational material that supports the Council's vision of transforming the green building market through quality education."

RedVector's portfolio provider status allows the company to provide USGBC-approved courses to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professionals (AP) needing to meet future continuing education requirements set by the USGBC. The Council has currently approved three of RedVector's courses and will review over 50 more course hours in the near future.

In addition to the USGBC-approved courses, RedVector also offers over 60 online courses with a sustainable/green design focus. The company has also formed an exclusive partnership with the University of Tennessee College of Architecture and Design to create the "University of Tennessee Sustainable Design and Green Buildings Certificate." The online certificate program is meant to broaden students' sustainable design and green building knowledge all while giving a comprehensive review of the exam point categories on the LEED AP Exam given by the USGBC. Latest course offerings include:

"Green Design: Economics of Green Building," a 2-hour course studying the perceived and actual costs associated with green building.

"Green Design: Brownfield Redevelopment," a 2-hour course discussing what a brownfield is, where it came from, where it still exists and with the help of USGBC and LEED, the multitude of Federal, State, and local initiatives that surround brownfield redevelopment.

RedVector sets the standard of excellence in online continuing education for licensed and certified professionals in the engineering, architectural, construction and long-term healthcare industries. With an online library exceeding 1,000 courses, authored by more than 100 subject matter experts and spanning all 50 states, RedVector serves more than 600,000 design and construction professionals. Through the acquisition of Care2Learn in 2007, RedVector expanded its leadership position in online education solutions to the long-term healthcare market, which includes nursing homes, assisted living facilities, rehabilitation centers and home healthcare and hospice facilities. The Care2Learn course library includes approximately 500 board-certified courses delivered to more than 225,000 healthcare professionals in all 50 states.
