SMRG is now providing multifamily owners and developers with services to optimize and reposition their existing assets to become more energy efficient, ecologically friendly and ultimately more marketable in today's tough economic times.
SMRG uses Looney Ricks Kiss's extensive expertise in the multifamily field to offer apartment owners and developers an option to take under-performing projects and upgrade them quickly as an option to increase occupancy and return. "The average apartment dweller is more sophisticated today and demands that an apartment home is not only a sustainable building but also allows for a sustainable lifestyle," said Bill Belshaw, Design Director of the Dallas office of Looney Ricks Kiss. In the most recent stimulus package there is $6.3 Billion for energy use reductions in subsidized multifamily projects, $20 Billion in tax incentives for renewable as well as energy efficiency and a large variety of local and state grants for improving existing buildings.
