AUSTIN, TX – College students sometimes dream of experiencing at least one rock star weekend in their lives, and Campus Advantage helped make that happen for two students. It gave them VIP treatment to the annual Austin City Limits Music Festival on Oct. 4-7 to thank them for the important role they play in making the Austin-based firm a leader in the student housing industry.
The company held a sweepstakes drawing and selected a community assistant and a student resident from one of its properties as part of the Campus Advantage Austin City Limits Giveaway. The community assistant winner of the giveaway was Stormy Head of Crimson Student Living in Tuscaloosa, Ala. She is a junior early childhood education major at the University of Alabama and a relatively new member of the Campus Advantage family, having worked for the firm for just six months. Head said she enjoys the people she works with, as well as the atmosphere of leasing and working in the student housing industry.
Head, who is from Gardendale, Ala., said she had never visited Austin and had been looking forward to seeing the city, hearing some of the more than 100 bands from around the world playing at the festival and enjoying a mini-vacation.
She is just one of two people selected by Campus Advantage to receive trips to the Austin music festival. The other person selected was Danielle Kaiser, who attends Marquette University and is a resident at 2040 Lofts in Milwaukee, Wis. Like Crimson Student Living, 2040 Lofts is also managed by Campus Advantage.
“Campus Advantage prides itself on the independent spirit and innovative thinking that you would expect from a company founded and headquartered in Austin—the Live Music Capital of the World,” said Campus Advantage CEO and Co-founder Mike Peter. “We wanted to give one of our residents and one of our community assistants the chance to experience first-hand what our company is all about by bringing them to Austin for a weekend. This also is our way of thanking them for supporting our company.”
To be eligible for the giveaway, students had to first register at their student housing property. Each of the two prize packages includes airfare to Austin for the winner and a friend, hotel accommodations for three nights and tickets to the first weekend of the Austin City Limits Music Festival. Campus Advantage received more than 20,000 entries before the Sept. 1 entry deadline.
