The hw Apartments Opens With a Modern Approach to Classic Old Hollywood Architecture

LOS ANGELES, CA - California Landmark Group (CLG) has completed construction on the hw and is now welcoming the first residents into Hollywood’s newest apartment project. Since opening 45 days ago, the building is already over 50% leased.

The 79-unit building located at 7928 Hollywood Boulevard is a tribute to classic California courtyard architecture, blending seamlessly alongside 1920’s homes in a vibrant and energetic Hollywood neighborhood.

Designed by PK Architecture and Rios Clementi Hale, the hw offers a unique living experience by positioning residents just blocks away from the stores, theaters, bars and restaurants on the famous Sunset Strip, but also offering lush surroundings, peaceful fountains and a tranquil rooftop lounge overlooking downtown and the Hollywood Hills.

“The hw is an architectural gem in the heart of Hollywood,” said Ken Kahan, President of CLG. “Our aim was to recreate the charm of the original California courtyard architecture popular in Hollywood through the 1920’s and 1930’s, while offering residents the modern amenities they’ve come to expect in newer buildings. Classic or Spanish revival buildings are extraordinarily popular with renters, so it’s no surprise that we’ve already seen a tremendous response since opening our doors just a few weeks ago.”

The building’s one, two and three bedroom homes range from 700 to 1,400 square feet, with rents ranging from $2,500 to $4,000 per month. The sunny, well-lit interiors feature spacious living areas with designer plank floors, high 10-foot ceilings and sleek finishes including Bosch appliances, Caesarstone countertops and large walk-in closets. Community amenities at the hw are unrivaled in the neighborhood. Residents have access to a rooftop deck with hot and cold dipping pools and stunning views of downtown Los Angeles and the Hollywood Hills, a business center, cardio and weight studio, a theater screening room and landscaped tile courtyards with fountains, all scattered throughout the property.

The hw residents are only a 5-10 minute walk to many food and entertainment options including Trader Joe’s, Greenblatt’s Deli, Burke Williams, the Sundance Cinemas, the Laugh Factory, the Chateau Marmont and several hiking trails, including Runyon Canyon Park.

“The hw is a fantastic new ‘old Hollywood’ building that will enable people to live close to basic services, employment centers, recreational activities and public transportation,” said Kahan. “Our residents are in the center of the action, and the hw will help solidify this area as a true walkable community.”
