SACRAMENTO, CA - Tricorp Hearn Construction, one of northern California’s leading commercial General Contractors, celebrates the completion of Foothill Farms Senior Apartments, a new, $26 million, 138-unit affordable housing facility. Tricorp Hearn Construction worked in partnership with California’s leading affordable housing developer, BRIDGE Housing, Kuchman Architects and the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency (SHRA).
The Grand Opening Ceremony represents the culmination of many years of effort by the community to expand successful re-development to an under-utilized area and brings much needed housing to a growing senior population.
“We are pleased to bring affordable housing for seniors to a neighborhood with easy access to transportation and shopping,” said Cynthia A. Parker, President and CEO of BRIDGE Housing. She adds, “Working in partnership with Tricorp Hearn Construction, Kuchman Architects and SHRA has brought tremendous value to this revitalization project and will have a lasting positive impact on the region.”
Situated on 4.5 acres, Foothills Farms Senior Apartments consists of four two and three-story buildings linked together with breezeways, surrounding a main courtyard featuring patios and gazebos. Additional amenities include a 4,020 sf community clubhouse, swimming pool, bocce court and community gardens. The property also features a bioswale that filters and slows storm runoff prior to its entry into the public storm drainage system. Tricorp Hearn, BRIDGE Housing and Kuchman Architects kept the project on time and on budget with strategic component, material and phasing selections to create aesthetically appealing, affordable apartments.
“We use a collaborative approach to unite the project team in achieving the project goals,” said Tony Moayed, Tricorp Hearn CEO. He explained, “The goal we achieved here was to provide attractive, affordable housing for low income seniors in Sacramento. Our multifamily construction experience is valuable to the community, and we want to continue to participate in these types of projects.”
